The Math Teacher is responsible for providing classroom instruction in the content area they are responsible for or for the grade level they are responsible to provide instruction for. This position may include teaching middle school math courses. The teacher will provide instruction in the core curriculum areas for which employed, making appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies. They will develop and implement innovative methods for providing instruction to students, support the Minnesota Graduation Standards, and implement the goals and objectives of the District and the school and/or program to which assigned. The teacher will evaluate student performance in accordance with the system used by the school and/or District, promote student achievement, maintain required student records, and make related reports to the principal as prescribed or authorized by the superintendent. Additionally, the teacher will maintain contact and communications with parents of students and work with them in the academic development of the student, participating in parent-teacher conferences. They will perform classroom management duties, enforce rules governing the conduct of students, and take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. The teacher is expected to continue seeking professional growth and development in their curriculum areas or grade levels and attend professional development required by the District. Other related duties as assigned.
