About The Position

Newark High School is seeking a qualified Math Teacher to focus on Algebra and Geometry. The ideal candidate will be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student, possess knowledge and/or experience teaching a variety of high school mathematics levels, and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of high school mathematics standards. This role involves using data to drive instruction, differentiating instruction for all learners, and collaborating with colleagues to integrate multiple disciplines. The teacher will also incorporate technology into the classroom, teach intervention skills outside of Math, and demonstrate successful classroom management and instructional skills. An interest in students beyond the classroom and willingness to work with students in co- or extra-curricular activities are also important.

Requirements

Hold valid Ohio High School certificate/license for Math or Integrated Math 7-12
Focus on Algebra and Geometry
Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student
Have knowledge and/or experience teaching a variety of levels of high school Mathematics
Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the high school student
Use data to drive instruction
Be able to differentiate instruction to all high school learners
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate multiple disciplines
Have interest in and willingness to work with students in co- or extra-curricular activities
Have evidence of successful classroom management skills and instructional skills
Have experience with team teaching or knowledge of team teaching activities
Incorporate technology into the classroom
Be willing to teach intervention skills outside of Math
Be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Math standards
Have interest in students beyond the classroom
Be acceptable to Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Certificated/Licensed Personnel
