About The Position

At KIPP Public Schools Northern California, Math Teachers are responsible for bringing academic and cultural visions to life. This role involves designing engaging lessons, utilizing data to guide instruction, and creating a classroom environment where every student can learn and thrive. The position also integrates Social Emotional Learning and Restorative Practices to foster a joyful, inclusive, and safe community. Teachers will collaborate closely with the school's Leadership Team, including their Instructional Coach, to continuously improve their teaching practice through weekly meetings, coaching, and feedback. A deep commitment to building an anti-racist community is essential, requiring ongoing reflection on identity, equity, and systemic impact, and collective examination of practices, data, and culture to ensure all students are served with excellence and dignity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired role, or Be eligible for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short Term Staff Permit (CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross is a prerequisite for this permit)

  • Strong content knowledge and instructional skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with KIPP’s academic vision
  • Analyze student data regularly to inform instruction and support student growth
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and rigorous classroom environment grounded in Restorative Practices and SEL
  • Use culturally responsive classroom management strategies to ensure safety, belonging, and high expectations for all students
  • Communicate proactively with families, colleagues, and leaders to build strong partnerships
  • Engage fully in weekly professional development and Communities of Practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, grades, and behavior data
