About The Position

This position is for a Math Teacher at the Middle School level for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves instructing students of all ability levels in assigned math, planning and preparing engaging lessons, and fostering a positive learning environment. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate with parents and administrators, and utilize various assessment methods to monitor student progress. A commitment to professional growth and school/district goals is expected.

Requirements

  • Michigan Certification and Highly Qualified status in secondary Math (EX endorsement).
  • Experience or demonstrated expertise in effective math instruction.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of Common Core State Standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with a focus on student learning.
  • Ability to appropriately integrate technology with instruction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective practices for working with students of all ability levels able to differentiate instruction.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effective use of balanced assessment (formative and summative).

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students of all ability levels in assigned math.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to high levels of professional practice and conduct.
  • Effectively plan and prepare instructional lessons and supports that include best practices in engaging and addressing the learning needs of all students.
  • Work to further develop the curriculum and seek innovative, engaging and motivating instructional approaches.
  • Frequently communicate with students, parents, counselors and administrators regarding student progress and other related matters.
  • Monitor, assess and report student progress toward learning targets and curriculum.
  • Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Implements useful progress monitoring assessment measures.
  • Effectively uses multiple forms of assessment and progress data to plan/guide instruction and inform the learner.
  • Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students.
  • Fosters a sense of appreciation and enthusiasm for the content area.
  • Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development.
  • Contributes and participates in efforts related to school and district goals.
  • Maintain consistent attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
