About The Position

Phoenix Academy is seeking a qualified Math/Science Secondary Teacher. This position requires a valid Michigan Teaching certificate, a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred), and must be Highly Qualified in the endorsement area. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement. Proficiency in technology and a collaborative spirit are essential. The role involves observing and evaluating student progress, assigning and grading work, and assuming other responsibilities as determined by the supervising administrator. The teacher must also conduct themselves professionally and represent the School District positively.

Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.

Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 pounds in assisting students.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
