Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong mathematics content knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for working with students who need additional academic support
- Strong technology skills and comfort working across multiple learning platforms
Nice To Haves
- Texas Math Certification
- Intervention or classroom teaching experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience working with at-risk or alternative education students
Responsibilities
- Deliver small-group and one-on-one math intervention.
- Diagnose learning gaps using assessments and student performance data.
- Develop individualized intervention plans.
- Monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Prepare students for the Algebra I STAAR End-of-Course assessment at the Mets level.
- Reinforce mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and confidence.
- Build meaningful relationships with assigned students.
- Meet regularly with students to establish academic goals.
- Celebrate growth while maintaining high expectations.
- Encourage resilience, perseverance, and personal responsibility.
- Help students develop productive learning habits.
- Partner with classroom teachers to coordinate interventions.
- Collaborate with Special Education staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), campus meetings, and professional development.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Administer diagnostic assessments.
- Monitor attendance, engagement, and academic performance.
- Maintain documentation of intervention plans and student growth.
- Recommend instructional adjustments based on student data.
- Assist with after-school and Saturday tutorials as needed.
- Support a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Perform additional duties that contribute to student success and campus goals.
Benefits
- Salary $55,000–$59,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
