About The Position

The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is accepting applications for a Math Class Instructor for TRiO Veterans Upward Bound. This position is responsible for instructing basic math skills up to College Algebra, developing curriculum, and providing guidance to veteran students.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in education, math or related field
Demonstrate the Ability to work with veteran students
Demonstrate the ability to use basic computer programs that are applicable in a college setting.
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Masters preferred
Two or more years teaching on the college level-preferred
Experience developing curriculum-preferred
Background similar to veteran students-preferred

Responsibilities

Possess the ability to work well with Military Veterans.
Develop class lesson plans and or create curriculum and lesson plans for classes.
Instruct basic math skills leading up to College Algebra.
Instruct in topics using time management, goalsetting, learning styles, blackboard, Library resources.
Enroll and conduct pre- and post- assessments of students.
Help maintain cleanliness and order of the classroom and/or site location.
Document students individual progress.
Maintain student attendance records.
Contact supervisor in advance when unable to come in for work.
Perform other Duties as requested.
