Math Instructor / Tutor - High School Level
About The Position
At Mathnasium of Mathnasium (ID: 8608302), we’re passionate about both our students and our employees! We set ourselves apart by providing Math Instructors with a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of K-12 students. We offer flexible, part-time hours — a minimum of 10 hours per week, with after-school and weekend shifts, in a fun, supportive, and encouraging work environment. You will gain hands-on experience working with children and teens, receive ongoing training in effective teaching methods and practices, and have opportunities to develop teaching, communication, and leadership skills. There are also opportunities to grow within the centre — from Instructor to Lead Instructor or into a leadership or administrative role. All necessary curriculum and instructional tools are provided. Requirements
- Passion for math and working with students
- Ability and enthusiasm to work with high school students and support them with challenging and advanced math concepts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- Curiosity, openness to learning, and willingness to grow
- Enthusiasm for training and openness to feedback
- Strong math competency through at least a high school program
- Reliability and a professional attitude
- All applicants will be required to complete a math literacy test to demonstrate their math proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Teach in-centre using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices
- Work primarily with high school students, providing support with more advanced math concepts and helping students build confidence, understanding, and problem-solving skills
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
- Assess students' learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
