About The Position

The Math Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of mathematical courses in various Associate degree level programs and in the general education curriculum. Such college-level mathematics courses include developmental math, quantitative literacy, technical math, algebra through calculus, and applied statistics, among other courses.

Requirements

Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in appropriate mathematical content coursework from an accredited college or university.
Ability to work well as a member of a department and campus community at a liberal arts college is essential.
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), preferably Canvas.
Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen.
Must be able to pass a drug screening.
Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions and must be insurable.

Nice To Haves

A doctorate is preferred but not required.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver in-person, online, or hybrid instruction for various math courses, adapting methods to diverse student needs.
Design, review, and revise course syllabi, curriculum, and learning materials to ensure compliance with academic departmental standards.
Advise Liberal Arts students, guiding course selection, career pathways, and internship opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, and ensure timely submission of reports and evaluations.
Collaborate with the Vice President of Academic Affairs to ensure curriculum alignment, course scheduling, program assessment, and student support services.
Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and other institutional initiatives.
