Teaching Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming teacher professional learning to improve student outcomes. They partner with teachers, school, district, and state leaders to create effective instructional systems. This is a contractor (1099) position starting September-October 2026 in Oakland, CA. Compensation is based on a day-rate model, with no guaranteed work hours. The role requires deep expertise in curriculum-based professional learning and equitable instructional practice, specifically for secondary (6-8) math educators implementing Illustrative Math curricula. The Program department focuses on designing, delivering, and improving teacher professional learning programs to enhance instructional practice and student achievement. The Facilitator/Coach will facilitate professional learning and provide instructional coaching to educators and school leaders, focusing on high-quality instructional materials and research-based practices. Responsibilities include designing and delivering professional development, providing 1:1 coaching and group learning, building collaborative relationships, and supporting data collection and reflection. This is an individual contributor role with no management responsibilities, requiring collaboration, adaptability, instructional expertise, and a commitment to excellent teaching and learning.
