About The Position

Improve student achievement and learning in mathematics by providing leadership to staff in their classroom practices in Elementary/Middle School Mathematics instruction, curriculum, and assessment. Supporting upper Elementary/Middle School classroom teachers (focus on grades 5 and 5) with an understanding of math content and pedagogy through collaborative coaching; unit planning; differentiation instruction; and the analysis of data from a variety of sources to improve instruction. Supporting a diverse range of learners from interventions to extensions during mathematics in the classroom and in small groups as part of the RTI process. Effectively managing aspects of the mathematics tutoring program; training tutors, managing instructional groupings of student for interventions, creating intervention schedules. Maintaining a mathematically literate school culture. Organizing and analyzing the school's mathematics data, facilitating conversations and data meetings among the faculty. Supporting teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction on all levels. Collaborating with administration to develop the Summer Mathematics assignments. Participating in the review and revision of the district’s Math curriculum. Serving on the school’s RTI Committee and Instructional Leadership Team. Performing additional responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the building Principal and the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics 5-8 required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching Mathematics in a K-8 setting preferred.
  • Experience working in a Title I program preferred.
