About The Position

SEO is hiring a part-time, seasonal Math Associate Instructor for its SEO High School Scholars program in Miami. The role is remote and online, serving 9th- and 10th-grade students in a bichronous program. Instruction is delivered online through Zoom, and instructors are assigned courses based on self-reported proficiency and a demo lesson. The semester’s courses are 9th-grade Numbers and Operations and 10th-grade Trigonometry. Associate Instructors work alongside Instructors to deliver SEO’s college-preparatory curriculum using a student-centered approach. They facilitate classroom instruction, teach mini-lessons, lead small-group and one-on-one instruction, and provide additional academic support. Instructors do not have grading responsibilities. New instructional staff complete 10 hours of self-guided asynchronous training before programming begins. Orientation takes place via Zoom during the week of February 8, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Synchronous online instruction is scheduled for February 20 and 27; March 6 and 20; April 3, 10, 17; and May 1, 8, and 15. During asynchronous weeks, instructors reflect on Scholar engagement and participation with a Scholar Advisor and have no other Scholar obligations. The stated schedule is 8:45 a.m.–2:15 p.m. on select Saturdays, with up to 10 programming hours per week. The position pays $32 per hour and is not eligible for benefits. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a Level 2 background screening through Florida’s Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse, including fingerprinting.
