About The Position

HealthPartners is hiring for a full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Float. Service excellence is to be centered on patient care and patient relationships and is the responsibility of all employees. Ensure high quality patient care while working cooperatively with physicians and co-workers. Ensure patient confidentiality. Implement professional standards at all times using independent judgment as needed when necessary to depart from established techniques. Act as a resource for other staff.

Requirements

• Credentialing by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/Gyn.
• Or Registry eligible graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Ultrasound Program to attain appropriate credentialing of specialty within one year from graduation
• NT & echo (fetal echocardiogram) certification and/or equivalent training required.
• Written and oral communications skills
• Must possess speech, hearing and sight skills to perform the functions of the position.
• Manual dexterity required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English proficiently.

Nice To Haves

• One year experience in OB/Gyn and knowledge of relative anatomy
• Experience working in perinatal high risk OB setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment in a safe, effective manner, ensuring established protocol for quality control.
• Documents and processes reports, organizes CDs or current image storage technologies, organizes VCR tapes/films, reviews finished exams for completeness, assists Sonologist/Maternal Fetal Medicine & specialty consulting clinicians with viewing and report of exams.
• Keeps accurate records and statistics of all exams for Quality Control and patient outcomes.
• Ensures an organized, safe and professional environment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy.
• Uses independent judgment for exam comprehensives.
• Is informed and knowledgeable regarding new technology.
• Implements new technology in department.
• Follows strict OSHA standards in all areas, specifically in regards to cleaning equipment, transducers, along with documentation.
• Contacts patients and referring providers and Maternal Fetal Medicine & specialty consulting clinicians as needed, e.g., results, follow-up, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Lead Sonographer and/or Sonologist.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in using correct processes to provide care to patients and their families.
• Implements established HealthPartners policies and procedures.
• Provides support to patients and their families.
• Documents patient information accurately and completely and keeps records regarding clinical practice.
• Follows the imaging protocols set forth by their respective department.
• Shares information with other members of the health care team.

• Uses appropriate systems, automated or manual, to obtain patient information and schedule appointments.

• Maintains ARDMS/CCI/ARRT Registration by completing required continuing education.
