About The Position

This is a leadership position within the Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) Warehouse. The Materiel Management Specialist is responsible for the comprehensive management of all supplies and equipment used to support GMH, from acquisition to disposal. This includes procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, and delivery of material. The functions within this job family will vary by level, but may include receiving, issuing, shipping, and arranging stock in proper location using machinery as needed. The specialist will also inspect items for conformance with specifications and confer with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries, and acceptability of supplies.

Requirements

  • Level I: No education or experience required.
  • Level II: Two years' experience in receipt, storage, or stock handling work, issuance of material, customer service, or clerical office work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy lifting or other manual tasks (for some positions).
  • Ability to lift/carry 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to push and pull a maximum force of 40 pounds.
  • Applicants for safety sensitive positions must submit to urinalysis to test for drugs upon a conditional offer of employment.
