About The Position

The Materials Warehouse Supervisor role at CNG is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations and leading a team to ensure efficient and safe handling of materials. This position involves daily communication with employees, managing schedules, ensuring inventory accuracy, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The supervisor is expected to be a role model for staff, focusing on employee engagement, development, and adherence to safety and quality policies.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of warehouse distribution experience or related field required
  • Prior experience of project management
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to successfully multitask

Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with employees about scheduling, goals, expectations
  • Meet and grow team engagement and accountability
  • Communicate with other shifts and departments to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment
  • Grow Material Handling team through recruiting, training, and development
  • Verify, inspect, and mark inventory items received with appropriate stock numbers and locations regularly
  • Perform assigned cycle counts for quarterly inventories help drive inventory accuracy within department and help create processes to do so
  • Proactively review schedule/staffing and Packaging inventory to ensure adequate coverage and material availability
  • Manage schedules, vacation, and timecards
  • Lead and assist ordering packaging and other supplies
  • Lead packaging optimization CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives
  • Assuring safe work practices, compliance and the enforcement of safety, product safety, and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Act as an effective role model for staff, demonstrating a strong work ethic, promoting the organization positively, allocating time for personal growth, and fostering a positive and safe work environment.
  • Conducts effective performance evaluation and regular coaching sessions with staff to develop core competencies, address performance improvements. Holds staff accountable and are focused on improving performance. Regular coaching and 1:1 sessions to address development, engagement, and performance.
  • Utilize Gallup engagement survey data to develop and engage direct reports
  • Actively engages with staff to establish and complete training and progression plans to develop staff
  • Utilize HRIS system (ADP) to manage attendance, performance reviews, and future People development and management tools within the system
  • Participation for Interviewing and selecting staff for their shift
  • Personal Leadership Development is required (leadership training, etc) and may require occasional travel.
