  • Experience or coursework supporting in a laboratory environment
  • Coursework/knowledge of engineered materials and engineering processes

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ASTM, AMS, MIL, and other testing specifications related to tapes, coatings, polymeric materials, metals, electrical wires/cables, or fasteners, and other aerospace materials.
  • Hands-on experience in the evaluation of materials related to extension of shelf life.
  • Experience evaluating receiving inspection parts and materials, performing acceptance testing, and reporting non-conformances.

Responsibilities

  • Run the tests that matter – Set up, verify, and execute mechanical, thermal, corrosion, chemical and fatigue tests on metals, ceramics, and polymers, and other supporting materials and parts using both standard rigs and cutting edge instrumentation.
  • Prepare flawless specimens – Cut, machine, polish, and condition samples to exacting tolerances; verify that every test specimen meets the detailed method specifications required for reliable test results.
  • Collect and analyze data with laser sharp precision – Apply rigorous testing methods, capture raw test measurements, and interpret the results to confirm they are logical and repeatable. Meticulous attention to detail is mandatory—any oversight can mean the difference between a pass and a fail, a launch or a delay.
  • Document every step – Prepare meticulous lab testing documentation, non conformance reports, and formal test reports that meet aerospace quality standards; every observation, deviation, and requirement must be recorded accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain a safe, compliant environment – Follow all safety protocols, perform equipment checks, and ensure proper handling of hazardous materials; keep the lab running smoothly and audit ready at all times.
  • Partner with cross functional experts – Work side by side with Lab Experts, Design Engineers, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement to translate test requirements into actionable test plans and to feed real world data back into product development and manufacturing.
  • Customer Facing Test Development – Partner with customers to define test plans, execute laboratory testing, and interpret results, delivering clear, data driven insights that support their program objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement – Identify test procedure inefficiencies, suggest new methodologies, and help upgrade lab capabilities—always looking for ways to boost accuracy, speed, and cost effectiveness.
