About The Position

Element Daleville is seeking a Materials Test Technician (2nd Shift) to join their Mechanical Test Department. This role involves performing a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments to ensure timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The laboratory is located in Daleville, Indiana, and serves aerospace, defense, and critical manufacturing customers. Core capabilities include mechanical testing, metallurgical evaluation, and chemistry testing for metals and alloys used in high-performance applications.

Requirements

Working knowledge of laboratory safety
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field
Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
Basic understanding of testing concepts
Possess computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Office Applications

Nice To Haves

HS diploma or GED certificate preferred
College or vocational school coursework welcomed
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus

Responsibilities

Performs tests as directed by customer specifications, including, but not limited to: Room and Elevated Temperature Tensile; Stress and Creep Rupture; Charpy and IZOD; Hardness; Heat Treatment; Bend; Hydrogen Embrittlement
Operates under the supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager
Interacts periodically with customers
Adheres to all Element Safety Standards
Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Element's established Standard Operating Procedures
Prepares material specimens for testing
Ensures tests are performed using calibrated and well-maintained equipment
Operates equipment per manufacturer and safety requirements
Gathers and records test data, determining material conformance to customer requirements and industry standards
