Detail oriented member of Distribution Services team. The Material Technician II will perform a wide variety of supply chain activities; most notably, ordering and replenishing medical and surgical products as well as general office supplies, verifying product integrity, and confirming order accuracy in the process of receiving product. Materials Technician II is the key liaison between the Materials Management department and inpatient nursing areas, surgical services, emergency services, cardiac catheterization, women & infants services, and various other clinical and non-clinical departments for the majority of supply chain services. The role of Materials Technician II is expected to work closely with the clinical department managers and staff to ensure the appropriate amount product is stocked that will meet patient care needs. This role is also responsible for conducting inventory, and ordering the necessary supplies for their areas of responsibility using Lawson Materials Information System (MMIS), handheld technology, and Pyxis automated supply stations. Materials Technician II will provide accurate usage and compliance reports to nursing management and other service leaders to assess patient charge compliance for all items dispensed through Pyxis. Materials Technician II will collaborate with managers when products are added or deleted from stock. This role will ensure the integrity of information between Pyxis stations, handheld technology, and their respective interfaces to MMIS with accurate, daily data entries. In addition, Materials Technician II is responsible for the prompt delivery of patient care equipment and sterile re-processed goods to internal customers throughout the hospital.
