About The Position

AriensCo has an opportunity at the Shepherdsville, KY distribution center for a Materials Technician. This role involves providing information on inventory availability and quality, verifying part availability, reading blueprints, assisting with material relocation, advising on inventory management methods, processing internal and external parts, examining received materials, resolving material needs and inventory control issues, assisting quality control with scrap removal, and moving inventory using a forklift or other material handling equipment. The position also requires communication with internal stakeholders regarding material issues and performing other duties as assigned, such as picking or packing customer orders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training
  • Strong language, mathematical, reasoning and computer skill
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to drive industrial powered trucks (Reach Truck, Order Picker)
  • Required to wear safety shoes, vest, and gloves.
  • Required to work in a hot and humid or cold environment
  • Required to stand/walk at least 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, 35 lbs. frequently, push, pull, twist, reach, bend, squat
  • Required to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information to Corporate Customer Service and other Ariens stakeholders as required, relating to inventory availability and quality
  • Verify part availability, and reads blueprints to determine if parts are correct
  • Assist in efficiently relocating material when necessary
  • Advise leadership on efficient methods to locate, replenish and move inventory to ensure inventory accuracy and efficient picking
  • Responsible for the effective organization, flow, and replenishment of materials throughout the distribution center
  • Process internal parts for correction; and external rejected parts for credit
  • Examine material received, verifies parts numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts
  • Resolve material needs, solve material problems, and inventory control issues
  • Assist quality control in removing scrap from inventory
  • Move inventory using a forklift or other material handling equipment while ensuring systematic transfer of product is completed
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders on any materials related issues (quality, quantity discrepancies, etc.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet customer needs such as picking or packing of customer orders, as needed
