About The Position

We are a 3PL provider of assembly and contract packaging services and the associated warehousing, distribution, procurement and transportation services. WIT Logistics, LLC, a Walker SCM company, is looking for a full-time Materials Supervisor for our operation in Louisville, Kentucky who is responsible for assisting all purchasing, shipping, receiving and warehouse personnel and activities while providing direction and leadership. Additionally, the Materials Supervisor strives to achieve and maintain consistency and accuracy in accordance with established goals. We are looking for the right person who shares our philosophy of Operational Excellence daily. primary objective is to deliver the right part, to the right place, at the right time.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree within Material Control/Logistics or related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Proficient communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • Warehouse experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completing Training – matrix, signoffs, evals (ensure all new hires are being trained to work instructions, perform training on PIS updates, get signatures for PIS training, maintain training matrix, perform training evaluations and follow-up)
  • Schedule adherence (ensure all shipments are made that are on the schedule)
  • Shipping assignments (assign clerks/MCs to shipments)
  • PTO/call out coverage planning (reassign shipments, schedule OT, etc)
  • Shop order follow-up (confirming all shop orders are processed and shipped)
  • Shipping/routing delays (making sure all shipments arrive and depart on time, escalate late trucks)
  • Routing changes (submit routing changes as needed)
  • Cube outs and expedites (assist with cube outs or expedites as needed)
  • Safety & quality alert signoffs (cover safety and quality alerts with team members, follow up regularly to ensure adherence)
  • Empty dunnage coverage (follow up with customers if production is short on containers)
  • Summary metrics completion (confirm each day summary metrics has been completed and saved)
  • BHIA checks on Monday (check BHIA in eDDL each week and communicate updates)
  • Takt follow-up (ensure all team members are logging into Takt and changing tasks as necessary)
  • Provide feedback on team member performance, escalate concerns
  • Task follow up
  • Assist in other duties as assigned
