Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and Infection Control standards. Responsible for Inventory, Receiving or Mailroom assignments. Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, and reconciles shipping documents with corresponding purchase orders. Inspects shipments for damages, defects or discrepancies. Records information and notifies Purchasing Personnel or Supervisor. Inputs receiving information into Materials Management Information System accurately and in a timely manner. Separates and stages incoming goods for distribution to appropriate department or entity. Coordinates items for shipment by commercial conveyance by preparing bills of lading and/or other documents as required. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Routes all equipment to Bio Medical/Clinical Engineering for required electrical safety inspections prior to delivery to appropriate department or entity. Runs all necessary Materials Management System routines to facilitate inventory restock, bar code scanning, JIT, EDI and Sub-Inventory maintenance. Rotates older stock to the front and newer stock to the back. Checks Inventory areas monthly for expired products on shelves and follows Department Expired Goods Policy. Responds to and processes all requests for supplies via Par-Level Inventory process, direct contact, phone/voice mail and/or direction from Lead Dispatcher and/or supervisor. Collects and stores clean patient care equipment for redistribution. Manages and restocks code carts, isolation carts and/or any specialty supply carts as needed. Maintains and cleans Central Distribution Department specific supply storage carts and shelves. Picks up and delivers supplies, orders, and incoming/outgoing and inter-facility mail to all departments and/or entities of Cape Cod Hospital. Participates in educational programs, in-services and meetings as required. Recognizes/understands responsibility of this key role and the responsibility this position demands in direct support of high quality patient care delivery regardless of assignment. Ability to work independently. Complies with policies regarding the wearing of department provided uniforms. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
