About The Position

H. Loeb Corporation is seeking a Materials & Purchasing Coordinator to own the end-to-end materials, purchasing, inventory tracking, and logistics functions. This is a new role where the successful candidate will build the process from the ground up, reporting to the Controller and working closely with the Production Manager and Manufacturing Engineer. The role offers real ownership, authority to place POs, manage supplier relationships, and make inventory decisions, with direct visibility to leadership. The company is a growing job-shop manufacturer in the Dartmouth/New Bedford area, specializing in custom foam packaging, and is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or inventory environment.
  • Comfortable with both physical materials work (about half the time) and desk-based ERP/purchasing (the other half).
  • Basic financial literacy – understanding how inventory and purchasing decisions affect the P&L.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication with vendors, teammates, and management.
  • High school diploma plus relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Infor Visual ERP experience.
  • Direct purchasing experience (POs, supplier follow-ups, price negotiations on commodity items).
  • Forklift certification.
  • LTL and freight coordination experience.
  • Construction or trades logistics background.
  • ISO 9001 environment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Staging received materials in their designated locations.
  • Entering, maintaining, and reconciling inventory data in Visual ERP.
  • Placing POs against existing suppliers, following up on deliveries, and coordinating vendor communication.
  • Managing reverse logistics and unused material put-back.
  • Performing physical inventory counts and material labeling.
  • Coordinating LTL scheduling, deliveries, and resolving freight issues.
