About The Position

The Materials & Process Engineer will advance and refine manufacturing processes involving directed energy, controlled reactive environments, and metal–ceramic interface engineering. This role focuses on transforming material performance through precise thermal, energetic, and phase-control processes at microstructural scales.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with high-temperature or surface-engineering processes (laser, plasma, PVD/CVD, HIP, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, phase transformations, and process–structure–property relationships
  • U.S. citizen and U.S. clearance eligible

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify process parameters for advanced manufacturing and surface-engineering systems
  • Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to transition lab-scale methods to production
  • Characterize microstructural, chemical, and mechanical outcomes to optimize performance
  • Support documentation, data analysis, and process-control protocols
