About The Position

LeoLabs is seeking a Materials Planner to join the Radar Supply Chain Management team. This role is crucial for driving demand planning, ensuring material readiness, and generating forecasts to support radar manufacturing and deployment schedules. The Materials Planner will translate engineering demand, production schedules, and program inputs into actionable forecasts and supply plans, ensuring material availability across the global supply chain. This position acts as a central point of alignment between Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Inventory Management. The ideal candidate will possess strong supply/demand planning experience, a background in electronics, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Key attributes include strong analytical skills, comfort with ambiguity, and adaptability to shifting priorities in a growth-phase startup. The role involves meeting and accelerating time-sensitive deployment schedules in close collaboration with production, finance, operations, and engineering departments. The Materials Planner will join the Radar Deployments Group and report to the Associate Inventory Manager. This is a hybrid role based at our Headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. personnel security clearance
  • Background in electronics or high-tech manufacturing industry
  • Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering change processes
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturer (CM) environments and supply planning across external partners
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp
  • Understanding of inventory optimization, lead time management, and material requirements planning (MRP)
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain material forecasts based on engineering demand, production schedules, and program inputs
  • Translate evolving and ambiguous engineering requirements into structured, actionable supply plans
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to validate build requirements, yields, timing constraints, and align material readiness
  • Monitor supply vs. demand and proactively identify shortages, excess inventory, and potential risks to deployment schedules
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of materials based on forecasted demand
  • Maintain and manage planning data within ERP systems (NetSuite), ensuring accuracy of demand signals and supply parameters
  • Analyze inventory levels, lead times, and consumption trends to optimize material planning strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement of forecasting accuracy and planning processes
  • Support NPI and ramp activities by developing build plans and material readiness strategies
  • Communicate forecast changes and demand variability clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., contract manufacturers)
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track forecast accuracy, material availability, and supply chain performance
