Materials Planner
About The Position
Brooks Automation is seeking a Materials Planner to support production and vendor sales planning. The role drives materials to support the forecast production schedule, manages the slot plan and build delivery dates, and works with Program Management to prioritize builds across multiple locations. It identifies material gaps and works with Supply Chain to help close them, and generates work orders so materials can be kitted for Production Technicians. The position also handles order entry and planning for Vendor Sales, including receiving and entering Vendor Sales purchase orders in Oracle Cloud, scheduling delivery dates, and coordinating with suppliers to meet required dates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain operations, or product launch support.
- BOM management experience.
- Knowledge of inventory and demand planning.
- Ability to identify material shortages and mitigate risks before builds.
- Experience supporting engineering builds and production transitions.
- Ability to lead meetings and drive action items to closure.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for material shortages and schedule slips.
- Ability to use data to make planning decisions and recommend corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Drive materials to support the forecast production schedule.
- Manage the slot plan to schedule builds and communicate delivery dates.
- Work with Program Management to prioritize builds supporting multiple locations.
- Identify critical material gaps in advance and highlight them to Supply Chain to support closing the gaps.
- Generate work orders so materials can be kitted for Production Technicians to build to the slot plan.
- Perform order entry and planning for Vendor Sales.
- Receive Vendor Sales purchase orders and enter them into Oracle Cloud.
- Schedule Vendor Sales delivery dates and coordinate with suppliers to meet required dates.
- Lead meetings and drive action items to closure.
- Perform root cause analysis for material shortages and schedule slips.
- Use data to make planning decisions and recommend corrective actions.
