About The Position

The Material Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production plans that align customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. This role ensures efficient production scheduling, supports on-time delivery, manages supply and capacity constraints, and drives cross-functional coordination to maintain operational continuity.

Requirements

• Experience in production planning, supply chain, materials planning, or manufacturing operations preferred.
• Experience working in an ERP/MRP-driven environment.
• Experience coordinating across operations, procurement, and supplier teams.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
• Analytical problem-solving ability
• Knowledge of inventory management and capacity planning
• Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
• Attention to detail and sense of urgency

Nice To Haves

• APICS/ASCM certification is a plus
• Experience in a high-volume or multi-site manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices

Responsibilities

• Align production plans with material availability, labor capacity, machine capacity, and business priorities.
• Monitor and manage hot parts, material shortages, and supplier-related constraints that may impact production.
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, logistics, customer service, and quality teams to resolve supply and scheduling issues.
• Prioritize production orders to support customer commitments, service levels, and business objectives.
• Review and adjust schedules in response to changes in demand, equipment downtime, quality issues, or supply disruptions.
• Track inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to support continuity of supply while minimizing excess inventory.
• Analyze capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks, constraints, and opportunities for improved throughput.
• Support recovery planning and escalation processes for critical shortages, delayed deliveries, and line-impacting issues.
• Maintain planning parameters and ensure ERP/MRP system data accuracy to support effective scheduling and replenishment.
• Monitor key performance indicators such as schedule attainment, on-time delivery, backlog, inventory health, and past due orders.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, communication, and execution discipline.
