Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience, or a combination of education and on the job experience.
  • Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
  • Strong background in project material management
  • Extensive experience in production planning
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as Sharepoint
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze MRP/ERP reports daily to identify net material requirements, review action messages and release purchase requisitions
  • Release of purchase requisitions to fulfill demand forecasts and master production schedule.
  • Provide daily shortage visibility and impact analysis to Production Planner, Operations Leaders
  • Create and maintain all “intercompany” purchase orders, maintain daily communication with intercompany counterparts
  • Support, communicate and defend the mission, values and culture of the company
  • Support Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs where applicable
  • Review/Analyze cycle count reports from warehouse team to highlight any critical components variances that will impact production
  • Collaborate with procurement to expedite or defer orders proactively based on changes to production schedules
  • Monitor actual material costs incurred to date against total estimated project budget
  • Track committed costs to project (Open Purchase Orders and Supplier Agreements)
  • Align delivery of high value components with the project “Cost to Cost/Percent Complete” targets
  • Serve as backup/cross-coverage for peer planners and buyers as needed
  • Maintain audit-ready records and support internal/external and customer audits
