About Varda Low Earth orbit is open for business. Varda is accelerating the development of commercial space infrastructure, from in-orbit pharmaceutical processing to reliable and economical reentry capsules. Varda’s W-Series vehicles are built, designed, and operated by Varda in-house, including the pharmaceutical processing payloads, the capsules, the C-PICA heat shields, and the satellite buses. About this Role The Materials Manager will primarily support the expansion of inventory and kitting operations to new Varda locations and will also be a secondary backup to the Logistics Manager for inbound and outbound transportation scheduling and coordination. An individual who can thrive in a startup environment, implement process improvements, and support growth into multiple buildings is preferred.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and ERP systems or equivalent software
  • 3-5 + years of experience with logistics , material movement , i nventory m anagement, and expediting

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation Management, or equivalent experience
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Logistics experience across multi-site operations, including outbound and inbound international shipping
  • HazMat Certification (DOT, IATA, IMDG, Lithium Ion Battery)
  • Experience in Aerospace or similar fast paced industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with external suppliers and internal employees
  • Demonstrates organizational excellence

Responsibilities

  • Monitor material movements and process flow in the shop
  • Properly move material to/from receiving and production
  • Develop scaling plans for material movement with multiple buildings
  • Manage lifecycle of material from point of receipt
  • Advise on supply chain material design, focusing on inventory optimization and strategic material movement cost-savings opportunities
  • Design and manage a program that scales with the growth of the production volume and supply base
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Move material around the factory or to alternate sites
  • Properly store material in inventory
  • Prepare kits of materials requested within ERP system
  • Monitor inventory shelf life and stock levels
  • Perform inventory counts
