Turner Industries is seeking a Materials Manager to join their team in the New Iberia, LA area. This is an exempt role where the Materials Manager will be responsible for managing employees who receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products. The position reports to the Site Manager and/or Project Manager and involves performing a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent
• Excellent organizational skills
• Advanced knowledge of industrial materials and goods
• Good leadership and mentoring skills
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Nice To Haves

• Preferably one (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill
• Basic computer skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in lifting, transporting, storing, and loading materials and products by use of conveyors, cranes, hoists, or industrial trucks
• Applies knowledge of plant layout and material-handling equipment and procedures
• Studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and reports of warehousing space available to develop schedule for material handling activities
• May confer with supervisors of other departments to coordinate the flow of materials or products
• May verify or prepare records, such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction
