About The Position

The Materials Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the data parameters for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and related production software systems. This role involves creating and upholding business practices, procedures, and documentation to control supplier releases, incoming material shipments, receiving documents, inventory levels, material storage and movement, and customer shipments. The manager will oversee subordinates, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all material-related record-keeping. Key objectives include setting goals and action plans for reducing transportation costs, package handling, piece prices, and inventory levels. This position also requires monitoring supplier performance for compliance with quality and delivery standards, managing the Bill of Material Database, including effective date implementation and new end item loading, and minimizing inventory levels on balance-out parts, including submitting obsolescence claims when appropriate. Maintaining excellent customer relations, including supplier delivery performance, and reviewing subordinate job performance for training and development are also crucial. The role requires ensuring compliance with all Company customs processes and procedures, as well as adherence to all applicable BOS and TS requirements.

Requirements

Experience in Materials Management
Knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems
Experience with production software systems
Understanding of supplier release control
Experience with inventory management
Familiarity with Bill of Material (BOM) database management
Knowledge of customs processes and procedures
Understanding of BOS and TS requirements

Responsibilities

Establish the data base parameters for Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and related production software systems.
Establish and maintain business practices, procedures and documentation that ensures control of supplier releases, incoming material shipments, receiving documents, inventory levels, material storage and movement and shipments to the customer.
Manage and monitor the activities of subordinates accuracy and integrity of all materials related to record keeping.
Establish goals and action plans for continued reduction in the cost of transportation, package handling, and piece price and inventory levels.
Monitor and measure supplier performance to ensure compliance with established quality & delivery standards.
Manage the data and maintenance of the Bill of Material Database.
Monitor the performance of effectively date implementation changes to Billing of material and loading of new end items.
Minimize inventory levels on balance out parts and when appropriate, submit an obsolescence claim.
Maintain excellent customer relations including supplier delivery performance.
Reviews the job performance of each subordinate so that employee training and development may be utilized per Company policy.
Maintain compliance of all Company customs processes and procedures.
Conformance to all BOS and TS requirements applicable to position.
