Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 10 years of experience to include materials management, inventory management, operations strategy or forecasting or an Advanced Degree and 7 years of experience to include materials management, inventory management, operations, strategy or forecasting
  • Experience leading large, high performing teams within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all new‑buy materials sourcing and inventory management activities supporting a world‑class engine overhaul facility, ensuring on-time availability of parts with zero impact to production schedules.
  • Oversee, mentor, and develop a team of experienced procurement and materials professionals, setting clear objectives, managing performance, and driving a culture of accountability, proactive communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and refine tools, processes, and methods that increase efficiency, strengthen responsiveness, and improve cross-functional visibility across purchasing, spares, planning, warehouse operations, delivery assurance, and repair services.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and company requirements for all procurement activities while partnering closely with global vendors and inter-company departments to maintain material commitments.
  • Lead strategic planning and execution of new‑buy materials delivery, utilizing SAP, ESVR, TEGO, and other enterprise systems to track status, manage risk, and align delivery performance with monthly MML and annual build targets.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to eliminate line stoppages, applying analytical skills to refine reorder points, safety stock strategies, and material availability modeling in collaboration with planning and operations teams.
  • Partner with Gate 1 and Gate 3 leaders to ensure timely PO creation, accurate demand planning, and flawless execution of materials readiness to support all engine start commitments.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate material risks to leadership, coordinating with Delivery Assurance and External Repair Materials teams to assess alternate sourcing options and mitigate impact to build goals.
  • Manage complex issues requiring consideration of multiple variables, guiding the team’s approach to problem-solving and ensuring consistent adherence to policies, standard work, and operational excellence principles.
  • Influence stakeholders across the MRO value stream by clearly explaining practices, driving alignment, and championing materials strategies that support throughput, cost, and quality objectives.
