About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Materials Management TECH (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children’s Hospital team in Wilmington, DE. This role involves receiving, inspecting, warehousing, storing, transporting/delivering, issuing, safeguarding, accounting for, and replenishing medical material supplies and equipment at required locations in a timely fashion. The position requires performing computer operations, operating material handling equipment, and applying special handling procedures for hazardous materials. It also includes performing inventories, quality assurance inspections, and preparing/processing necessary documents and transactions. The role is responsible for the timely distribution/replenishment of all medical supplies and equipment, ensuring clinical equipment is tested before delivery, and performing regular communication with department managers to maintain accurate associate listings. The Materials Management Tech will implement materials activities for inventory control, accounting, and management of supplies and equipment, ensuring corrective actions and documentation are taken as needed. Following departmental SOPs is also a key part of the job.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of three (3) to six (6) month’s supply/distribution experience preferred.
  • Materials management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, inspects, warehouses, stores, transports/delivers, issues, safeguards, accounts for, and replenishes medical material supplies and equipment.
  • Processes receipts for incoming supplies, ensuring quality and quantity match documentation and noting discrepancies.
  • Performs required computer operations functions and operates material handling equipment.
  • Applies special handling procedures for storing hazardous material and utilizes personal protection equipment as required.
  • Performs inventories and quality assurance inspections.
  • Prepares and processes documents and transactions required for materials management.
  • Monitors requests and implements materials activities for inventory control, accounting, and management of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensures all clinical equipment with an electrical component is delivered to Clinical Engineering for testing/inspection prior to delivery.
  • Performs rounding of all patient care areas/nodes to identify required materials management support.
  • Inspects all materials for possible damage, defect, or expiration and reports findings.
  • Identifies, processes, and tags all Capital items received in accordance with the Foundation Capital Policy.
  • Maintains communication with Managers/Associates to facilitate the flow of items.
  • Performs regular communication with department managers to ensure current associate listings.
  • Ensures necessary corrective actions and documentation are taken for materials activities.
  • Prepares and validates computer input data to establish, revise, and maintain accountable records.
  • Follows all departmental SOPs as related to job functions.
