About The Position

The Clerk for Shipping/Receiving works under the supervision of the Manager - Supply Chain Logistics. The role is responsible for receipt and verification of all shipments while completing necessary processes by inputting data into management system. They deliver in-bound shipments to the requesting department, prepare outbound shipments, and serve as a back-up to the courier.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma - Required
  • 1 Year - Receiving experience - Required
  • Driver's License - Valid In State - required to obtain Class A, B, C, or E license (does not have to be in state) - Required Upon Hire
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed. - Required
  • Computer skills, data inputting, copying, answering telephone, manipulating equipment.
  • Team player, good (oral) communication skills, friendly, service oriented and problem solver.
  • Lifting of 50 lbs. Pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, standing, operating and walking.
  • Perform duties of storeroom clerk and courier as needed.
  • Successful completion of Fitness test required prior to employment commencing.
  • Must pass DOT physical prior to employment commencing.
  • Interpret data, calculate, comprehend, explain, short/long term memory, follows rules/instructions, and organizational skills.
  • Visual skills, smell, and feel.

Responsibilities

  • Processes all in-bound shipments into the facility, ensuring accuracy of product count against the accompanying packing slip.
  • Verifies packing slip information against actual product received noting any discrepancies.
  • Ensures all receipts are input into Materials Management Information System accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for expediting resolution on receipt discrepancies with the customer and/or vendor.
  • Processes all in-bound priority shipments before 11:00 am daily.
  • Prepares packaging for all outbound shipments, ensuring product matches submitted paperwork.
  • Processes and ships all out-bound shipments accurately and timely before end of day.
  • Ensures dock area is cleared of all in-bound shipments, boxes, supplies and debris by end of shift.
  • Relieve and/or assist courier as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
