About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating and distributing daily orders, filling requisitions, managing inventory stock rotation, unloading and unpacking shipments, and verifying order contents. The position requires good clerical, analytical, and communication skills, the ability to work under stress, and adequate hearing and visual abilities. The clerk must be able to follow oral and written instructions and comply with established behavioral expectations. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of supplies, maintaining a clean and organized storeroom and receiving area, and assisting with physical inventory counts. The role operates with minimal supervision and requires the ability to schedule duties according to workload and use slack time productively.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 1-2 years’ experience
  • Good clerical, analytical, and communication skills
  • Computer, typing and printing skills
  • Works under stress
  • Adequate hearing and visual abilities
  • Communicates verbally with others
  • Follows oral and written instruction
  • Consistently complies with established Behavioral Expectations

Responsibilities

  • Independently coordinates and distributes daily orders to the nursing units and other departments in a timely manner.
  • Fills properly signed requisitions from various departments and delivers them on a timely basis.
  • Responsible for proper rotation of inventory stock based on first in first out placed on shelves.
  • Unloads and unpacks shipments when received.
  • Verifies order contents against purchase orders.
  • Performs tasks correctly with a minimum waste of time and resources.
  • Assists in year-end physical inventory count.
  • Uses slack time productively.
  • Responds to calls and requests for supplies in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Keeps storeroom and receiving area clean and organized.
  • Breaks down boxes and takes to recycling area every night before leaving.
  • Determines proper destination of supplies and equipment ordered for other departments.
  • Assures timely delivery to designated departments.
  • Schedules duties according to the workload.
  • Transports supplies for scheduled and unscheduled delivery to the requesting departments.
  • Frequently spot checks inventories without supervision and suggests quantities to be ordered.
  • Completes daily assignments with accuracy within scheduled work time.
  • Other duties as requested.
