About The Position

The Materials Lean Leader will provide support and coaching within the Supply chain focused on the development and sustainment of a Materials Management Strategy (roadmap) aligned with the business targets. You will partner with organizational leadership to drive product and process improvements that deliver lead time and inventory reductions supporting customer delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in Manufacturing).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Lean and/or Materials Management.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in applying lean principles, specifically: material presentation, supermarket design, flow, pull systems, water-spider routes, and Kanban.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate between warehouse staff, procurement, and production floor teams.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving with a desire to improve inventory accuracy and material velocity.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and advocate for better material handling practices.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar quality/lean certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the lean roadmap for our materials organization, focusing on improving the efficiency of material planning and warehouse-to-production delivery.
  • Partner with planners to stabilize and optimize our Pull/replenishment systems. You will be the "boots on the ground" ensuring our systems are functioning as intended.
  • Facilitate day-to-day communication between our internal factory teams and suppliers to keep material flow consistent and predictable.
  • Manage specific material flow projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of Value Stream Maps (VSM) for key material segments.
  • Lead daily management routines to identify and resolve material shortages or flow bottlenecks, ensuring our teams hit schedule attainment targets.
  • Provide hands-on training to the production team on lean materials processes, including the proper use of supermarket systems and Kanban signals.
