About The Position

Alstar Group of Companies Ltd. is seeking a Materials Labourer to work out of their Calgary Shop location at 8700 Venture Ave SE. This position is responsible for various material handling and warehousing tasks within the oil & gas construction industry. The role involves unloading freight, verifying counts, identifying and labeling materials, and maintaining accurate records. The company has been providing quality construction services since 1969 and operates in Calgary & Leduc with projects across Western Canada.

Requirements

• Familiarity with warehousing, material handling, and distribution
• Experience with packing lists & P.O.’s
• Ability to lift 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of flanges, fittings, and valves is an asset
• Knowledge of the OS&D process is an asset
• MS Excel or Google Sheets experience is an asset
• Valid forklift ticket is an asset

Responsibilities

• Unloading inbound freight carriers, ensuring accurate counts and product identification, and locating the product in the storage location
• Examining articles for accuracy, discrepancy & flagging according to company policies
• Checking material received against the provided packing slip supplied by the vendor
• Labeling and marking all valves, fittings, and pipe (receive & reject)
• Prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Safely maneuvering forklifts in confined spaces
