About The Position

The Materials Handler will be responsible for inventorying and stocking supply and procedure carts, delivering medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen to all areas of the hospital, putting supplies away in the Storeroom, and sorting and delivering mail. This role requires computer knowledge and experience, the ability to make effective decisions, excellent communication skills, multitasking, and adaptability to changes in work processes. Training will be provided on the Materials Management computerized inventory system.

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Computer knowledge and experience
• Proficient using a computer with a Windows operating system
• Ability to make effective decisions when problems arise
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to adapt rapidly to changes in work process

Nice To Haves

• Previous warehouse/materials handling experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Inventorying and stocking supply and procedure carts
• Delivering medical supplies, patient care equipment, and linen to all areas of the hospital
• Putting supplies away in the Storeroom
• Sorting and delivering mail
• Assembling and delivering orders for supplies and equipment
• Filling out all required documentation completely and accurately when issuing or crediting supplies to maintain the integrity of the computerized inventory system
• Picking up soiled linen and patient care equipment
• Providing assistance to end users of the Materials Management computer system
• Other duties assigned with regular and predictable attendance
