About The Position

Performs day-to-day activities in the receipt, storage, maintenance and issue of stock and non-stock materials. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge of English (both written and spoken), mathematics and grammar.
  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in a material handler role.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling procedures.
  • Ability to operate Company vehicles and equipment (e.g. forklift, plant vehicles, etc.) and maintain operating licenses and certifications. TDL is required.
  • Ability to obtain with training and experience a CDL Class A license, DOT HAZMAT certification, etc. for making deliveries with a tractor/trailer if required.
  • Knowledge of common power plant materials.
  • Ability to inspect and maintain material handling equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to transport material between warehouses and site locations and maintain logs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to influence others toward action or a particular point of view.
  • Ability to accept responsibility for crew activities.
  • Ability to accomplish work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and associated software to perform warehouse activities.
  • Ability to monitor and recommend changes to OSSQ and reorder codes for warehouse location.
  • Ability to assume duties of Head Material Handler, when assigned.
  • Ability to perform analysis and run Ad-hoc reports, as needed.
  • Ability to create releases, prepare and ship material to vendor for repair; store and maintain pending repair material.
  • Ability to arrange and ship hazardous materials to other locations, prepare documents and maintains logs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to manage Open Stock and Tool Room programs.
  • Ability to prepare discrepant receivable reports, process material return authorization for discrepant material.
  • Ability to assist Plant personnel in maintaining gasoline inventory.
  • Ability to coordinate the collection and disposition of all scrap metal, wire, wood, lead, and copper.
  • Ability to expedite material as required.
  • Ability to maintain inventory records and complete inventory reconciliation.
  • Ability to coordinate inspections and maintain inspection logs and documentation.
  • Ability to manage commodities with limited Shelf-Life guidelines.
  • Ability to manage stocks of bottled and specialty gases for labs, plants, and warehouse.
  • Ability to coordinate the rubber goods exchange program.
  • Ability to perform quality control tasks.
  • Ability to provide customer service functions for external and internal clients.
  • Ability to identify and correct discrepancies in material and material storage.
  • Ability to perform inventory audits and make adjustment.
  • Ability to perform housekeeping duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
  • Knowledge of procedures for purchasing, receiving, storing, maintaining, and issuing material.
  • Receives material from vendors and common carriers by unloading trucks and inspects material for discrepancies.
  • Checks material for quantity, physical condition, weight, and capacity.
  • Employee must arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location at the Company’s discretion
  • Knowledge of the “Systems Applications Program” (SAP) with ability to perform computer entry and inquiries to assist with customer needs.
  • Ability to manager Tool Room, disbursement and tracking of issued tools/equipment. Manager repairs and restocking of replacement tools/equipment.
