About The Position

Viasat is seeking a materials handler to support Viasat’s energy services division for warehouse, inventory, and logistics functions. Your responsibilities will be diverse, but you will be empowered to use your initiative and skills in a variety of functions. You will coordinate with warehouse and inventory supervisor on receiving, allocation, and movement of materials within onsite and offsite locations. Maintain fixed asset registers for materials assigned to domestic warehouse locations. Work with logistics coordinator on domestic transportation moves in a cost effective and compliant manner. You will also comply with logistics processes and transportation cost models. You will liaise with internal departments and external customers where needed with end-to-end logistics processes that enable the fulfillment of orders. This individual should have the ability to collect and analyze data to help improve the organization's supply chain activities, monitor inventory stock levels, and support the supply chain team. As the Material Handler, you will be responsible for filling customer orders and delivering them to various internal delivery locations in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, productivity, and accuracy. This position will schedule domestic customer deliveries with identified freight forwarders. Must have good communication skills to coordinate with Leads and Supervisors in the various departments to provide an outstanding Customer Service experience to them. You will operate a forklift in performance of order filling duties. You will inspect and report the maintenance required for equipment. The Material Handler will also be responsible for other duties as assigned by the group lead including order picking, asset tracking, inventory management, material put-away, receiving, and projects as required. DISA Program Requirement: Must be able to successfully pass and maintain compliance with all DISA program requirements, including drug and alcohol testing. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including lifting, standing, walking, and other job-related physical activities as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing inventory, materials, and stockroom activities
  • Experience with arranging logistical movements
  • Physical aptitude to lift at least 50lb regularly and push or pull cargo of at least 75lb
  • Knowledge of forklift operation and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task under these conditions
  • Detail oriented, accurate with good organizational, project and time management skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and passionate about achieving goals
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • US Citizenship is required

  • SAP B1 or a comparable ERP inventory management tool
  • Excel skills a plus
