About The Position

This position exists to safely store, maintain, inventory, and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) Warehouse to any state agency or municipality throughout Colorado, as directed by the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC). The role is responsible for daily warehouse operations, equipment upkeep, inventory accountability, and regional delivery assistance.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in inventory, shipping, receiving, storing and issuing a wide variety of supplies and equipment.
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver's License
  • Proficient MS Office including Excel
  • Excellent communication skills in person and on the telephone
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Vendor and customer relations and service
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 - 60 pounds
  • Desire to learn

Responsibilities

  • Receive and store incoming supplies, moving materials to proper designated storage locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling tools.
  • Unload, load, palletize, wrap, pack, inventory, and properly document all stocked items stored at the PPE warehouse.
  • Conduct regular physical inventories to maintain complete and accurate product accountability.
  • Safely operate automated computer inventory systems to log, track, and update stock records.
  • Continuously review warehouse layout and re-arrange floor/racking configurations to accommodate new inventory and expanded storage requirements.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including lift trucks, walkie-rider jacks, delivery vehicles, manual/man-lifts, and specialized storage systems.
  • Perform thorough pre- and post-operation inspections on forklifts, pallet jacks, and related machinery.
  • Ensure electric batteries and equipment components are properly filled, maintained safely, and fully charged at the start of each workday.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections of warehouse storage systems, racking, and facility structures in accordance with policy and safety standards.
  • Maintain warehouse facilities/equipment and promptly advise supervisors of any unscheduled maintenance or repair needs.
  • Transport requisitioned PPE and emergency supplies to multiple locations across the Denver Metro Area and Front Range facilities.
  • Assist DHSEM Equipment Operators with loading, transport, and delivery operations as required.
