About The Position

The Materials Group Leader is responsible for supervising team leaders and team members in the Materials area. This position also supports the Materials Sub-contract Company, which is responsible for operational component supply. The role requires strong leadership and management of day-to-day floor operations, focusing on safety, quality control, timely component delivery, and inventory control. The position demands the ability to promote positive team relations and lead by example, upholding all HTGP expectations and performance standards. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and adapt to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • 4 Year Degree or comparable background of work related experience in supervisions and/or production control related activities.
  • Equivalent work related experience (equivalency is figured generally as 2 years’ experience equaling 1 year of formal education) may be considered in addition to the “Position Requirement”.
  • 4 - 6 years job related experience preferred
  • MS-Excel, Word
  • MS-PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot WMS proprietary software

Responsibilities

  • Supervising team leaders and team members in the Materials area.
  • Supporting Materials Sub-contract Company for operational component supply.
  • Providing strong leadership and management of day-to-day floor operations.
  • Ensuring safety, quality control, timely component delivery, and inventory control.
  • Promoting positive team relations and leading by example.
  • Adhering to Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures and leading others in the same.
  • Treating all HTGP team members with respect and professional courtesy.
  • Confirming and adhering to all required HTGP Certification standards such as IATF16949, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001.
  • Maintaining a pro-team member environment.
  • Learning, demonstrating, and upholding the HTGP Core Values.
  • Performing special assignments as required by management.
  • Adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complying with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Consistently meeting company safety goals.
  • Ensuring day-to-day safety in the Materials area, working with Sub-contractors as needed to ensure a safety culture.
  • Ensuring the integrity of components are maintained from receipt to point of use.
  • Understanding supply chain to all customers and troubleshooting as needed to ensure products are supplied in a timely, consistent manner, minimizing any downtime to internal operations.
  • Managing day-to-day inventory control, inventory management, and FIFO.
  • Assisting with inventory cycle counting, container yard inventory storage, and incoming CKD receipts from Korea.
  • Understanding the Housing ASRS system and software and troubleshooting supply issues in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of EO’s where required.
  • Leading LP ordering, OSD (Scrap) programs, or other assigned projects to meet business needs.
  • Leading capital projects as directed for continuous improvement in the Materials department.
  • Performing special assignments as required by management for continuous improvement of the Materials department.
  • Supporting IATF 16949 through accurate SOP’s, work instructions, and meeting IATF audit needs.
  • Controlling Non-conforming materials protocols and working to ensure the entire department does the same.
  • Working to understand and ensure compliance to CTPAT program in the Materials area.
  • Supporting and conducting training activities as needed to ensure IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Directing multiple team leaders and team members in their respective areas of responsibility.
  • Ensuring day-to-day PC activities safety, quality, including inventory control and 100% timely deliveries.
  • Enforcing a 5S philosophy to maintain a clean working environment.
  • Communicating to team leaders, team members, and management as required to meet department goals.
  • Working with Quality and Assembly departments on a daily basis to meet company goals.
  • Supporting training activities as required for all team members.
  • Leading team members toward a common goal in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Multi-tasking at all times, making quick, sound decisions on a day-to-days basis in a calm, confident manner.
  • Meeting all other requirements as assigned.
