About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Contamination Control Engineer. In this role, you will review plans for new products and factors, such as strength, weight, and cost to submit material selection recommendations ensuring attainment of design objectives. You will also plan and implement laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfill product cost and performance standards. Additionally, you will confer with producers of materials, such as metals, ceramics, and polymers, during investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications. This position requires a government security clearance and the selected candidate must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
  • Experience implementing contamination control for space applications or related field
  • Experience with precision cleaning of hardware or producing verification products for government customers
  • Knowledge of Materials and Processes for product development, improvement, design, application and production
