The Materials Engineer Asc role will include a variety of tasks and activities as part of a team within Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization, with a primary focus on materials and processes. As a Materials Engineer Associate - Early Career, you will spend much of your time working in a team environment, obtaining inputs from other engineers, performing analyses, and creating presentations/reports. There may be some travel. You will interact with engineers, suppliers, quality, production operations, program managers, customers, and customer consultants. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-driven and can multitask as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • Experience or coursework in a laboratory environment
  • Coursework/knowledge of materials testing, mechanical testing and/or metallurgy
  • Experience in the review of laboratory test results
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate data and complete related documentation and overall lab reports
  • Ability to travel ~10%
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance; US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ASTM, AMS, or MIL specifications related to metals and electrical testing of materials
  • Familiarity with standards related to testing of mechanical or electrical parts
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • As Designed and As Built Parts List Review
  • Supporting customer meetings to include the Parts, Materials & Processes Compliance Board.
  • Developing, monitoring and advocating for Non Standard Material Approval Requests
