The Component Engineer Asc role will include a variety of tasks and activities as part of a team within Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization, with a primary focus on electrical and electronic assemblies. As a Component Engineer Associate - Early Career, you will spend much of your time working in a team environment, obtaining inputs from other engineers, performing analyses, and creating presentations/reports. There may be some travel. You will interact with engineers, suppliers, quality, production operations, program managers, customers, and customer consultants. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-driven and can multitask as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Materials Engineering with emphasis on electrical parts, semiconductor physics or related field of study.
  • Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in the design, analysis, and/or construction of electrical parts and circuits, semiconductor physics and/or operation of devices such as hybrids, integrated circuits, transistors, diodes and capacitors
  • Knowledge of design, functionality, manufacturing, materials and processes used in EEE parts
  • Ability to travel ~10%
  • Ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance; US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
  • Experience participating in major program milestone reviews such as PDR and CDR
  • Basic understanding of Nuclear effects on EEE parts and demonstrated ability to work closely with Survivability Engineers in strategic Rad Hard applications
  • Familiarity with military specifications and engineering requirements
  • Basic understanding of worst-case analysis (WCA) / EEE parts derating and end of life requirements
  • Ability to evaluate current and developing technologies for EEE parts in complex design packages
  • Experience or knowledge of failure analysis, destructive physical analysis and/or root cause and corrective action analysis related to EEE parts
  • Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
  • Active or Current Secret clearance or higher

Responsibilities

  • As Designed and As Built Parts List Review
  • Supporting customer meetings to include the Parts, Materials & Processes Compliance Board.
  • Developing, monitoring and advocating for Non Standard Part Approval Requests
