About The Position

The Materials Developer II will support Nike Global Sports Apparel as part of the Global Apparel Materials Team (GLAM), working with Design, Product Management, Technical Development, Color, Sourcing, and Manufacturing. The role focuses on developing modern, forward-thinking materials and ensuring their performance in garment form.

The developer will explore textiles, trims, and print and pattern innovations for Global Sports Apparel, including knit and woven tops, bottoms, and outerwear. They will partner with product creation teams and vendors to develop seasonal materials and trims from concept through commercialization, including testing, tracking, and creative material solutions. The role contributes to a commercialized materials and trims palette grounded in key sustainability goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.
• At least 2 years of directly relevant work experience.
• Technical materials and trims knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing techniques.
• Knowledge of knits, wovens, ribs, trims, print, and pattern.
• Experience partnering with vendors to develop and test a material or trim from inception to production.
• Strong technical materials knowledge, critical thinking, and collaborative skills.

• Knowledge of industry material and trim trends.
