About The Position

The Materials Coordinator assumes overall responsibility and authority for the coordination of material management for the Operating Room. He/She oversees all supplies and equipment within this service. The Materials Coordinator serves as a resource for the medical staff, nursing staff, patient’s families, and other interdisciplinary team members. He/She assumes other duties and special projects as assigned and maintains costs within budgeted parameters.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent required.
Current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
Five (5) years’ perioperative experience required.
Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
Ability to function independently, adapt to workload demands, set priorities, and understand and set goals.
Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment based on approved scope of practice and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
Thorough knowledge of AST process standards.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.
Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
Experience with McKesson Materials Information System and EPIC Resource Maps within an operating room environment preferred.
