We’re looking for a Materials Coordinator to coordinate the efficient flow of materials, products, and equipment to support manufacturing operations by receiving, transporting, storing, preparing, processing, packaging, and shipping food and non-food items. This role will maintain accurate inventory levels, oversee material availability, and manage purchasing and storeroom activities to ensure the Maintenance and Manufacturing Departments have the resources needed to operate effectively and meet production requirements.

Requirements

  • Generally, a minimum of one (1) years of experience in Inventory / Purchasing Field with High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency in data entry, Word and Excel programs required.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven abilities in verbal and written communications required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with procurement of maintenance parts and materials preferred.
  • Prior experience with inventory management and cycle counts.
  • Experience using FedEx software to create shipping labels and schedule deliveries.
  • Experience operating forklifts is preferred, with the ability to obtain OFD forklift certification within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of maintenance parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  • Purchase maintenance and operational materials, obtain competitive quotes, and coordinate deliveries or pickups.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct audits, and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Process inventory receipts, movements, and transactions using barcode scanners and business systems.
  • Support maintenance, engineering, and production teams by ensuring materials are available to meet operational schedules.
  • Monitor purchasing costs, manage returns and credits, and ensure cost-effective procurement practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilize asset management and inventory software to track materials, equipment history, and work activities.
  • Perform shipping of maintenance and operations parts and materials.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
  • Embody OFD’s cultural values and align daily actions with department and company culture.
