About The Position

The Materials Coordinator oversees the purchasing, repairing, distribution, and evaluating of all and new equipment. This position is also responsible for updating the records of supplies and inventory.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • CC 6081, 6211, & 6214: 5 years operating room, sterile supply experience minimum, or business inventory minimum.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all ordering of supplies and equipment within the ETC.
  • Monitors all outside orders along with orders placed with Distribution.
  • Report all materials (supply/equipment) backorders/recalls with ETC key stakeholders.
  • Organizes the layout of the ETC supply rooms, clean utility rooms, and soiled utility rooms.
  • Perform weekly joint commission survey rounds.
  • Promote a state of joint commission readiness within the department.
  • Communicate approved substitute equipment and supply information to ETC key stakeholders.
  • Ensure all IT equipment is functioning properly.
  • Place work order tickets for all non-functioning equipment reported by team members.
  • Routinely makes rounds to assure that essential equipment for patient care is available to the staff.
  • Take lead role in implementing new approved equipment and supplies.
  • Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of supply storage areas.
  • Maintains inventory of all monitor accessories and logs on a weekly basis.
  • Maintains and orders supplies general use and completes all forms, purchase requisitions and follows up on questions from other departments (i.e. Accounts Receivable, Purchasing and Receiving).
  • Orient Operations Technician on stocking, ordering, and equipment rounds.
  • Assures that all supplies are distributed to their appropriate locations, reviews charges daily to replenish used supplies and keeps accurate records.
  • Coordinates with Plant Operations, Bio-Med, and Sales Reps/Repairmen in order to initiate and follow-up on requests for repairs of equipment.
  • Liaison for the ETC with Plant Operations, Materials Management, Bio-Medical, IT and Infection Prevention.
  • Assigned to special projects and other tasks on request.
  • Completes patient rounds and document in rounding system.
  • Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
