About The Position

The Materials Controller II serves as a dual-role logistics and vendor management specialist while simultaneously managing daily logistics operations, including FAA receiving inspections, material routing, and company shipping. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing tooling, core inventory control, ensuring timely vendor returns and deposit recovery, and assisting with purchasing when necessary while maintaining proactive communication with management and customers regarding global delivery status.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of FAA Part 145 receiving requirements and documentation (8130-3 forms, EASA For 1, etc.)
  • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of the MS Office suite of applications and database usage.
  • Ability to remain focused and see projects through to completion with continuous updates to supervisors is required.
  • Proven ability to mentor and train others in company protocols and continuous improvement programs.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
  • Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license is required.
  • 3-5 years experience in aviation parts handling or MRO logistics.
  • U.S. work authorization is a precondition of employment. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S, both now and at all future times. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Independently negotiate with vendors for better pricing and Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) parts and manage Over-the-Counter (OTC) sales.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for FAA Part 145 receiving compliance and inventory strategy.
  • Completes incoming parts and material receiving inspections in accordance with FAA guidelines and routes the received material to the appropriate end-user or stock room location.
  • Provides updates to managers on delivered parts.
  • Develop and optimize global shipping routes to reduce costs and transit times for time critical deliveries.
  • Assumes full responsibility for time-critical global deliveries, expedited shipping, and direct customer tracking updates to ensure zero service interruptions.
  • Complete company shipping and receiving tasks to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials and provide tracking information to the management team.
  • Assist purchasing and maintaining inventory of stock and analyzes inventory turnover rates to suggest stocking levels to management to reduce AOG delays.
  • Manage the calibrated tooling program ensuring zero ‘out-of-service’ lapses for the maintenance team.
  • Take lead on deposit recovery and core inventory control and logistics.
  • Ensures the timely return of core units to vendors, safeguarding deposit credits and maintaining account good standing.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal audits regarding FAA receiving inspections and material routing.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment presenting a professional appearance.
  • Maintains job proficiency by fully participating in the company training and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure daily communication to internal and external customers to ensure interdepartmental coordination and support delivery schedule.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned and/or outlined by management.
