About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking an aspiring Materials Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or Chemist for a summer 2027 internship in its Mission Systems sector in Baltimore, Maryland. The intern will become part of the BaPS division. The internship offers opportunities to learn new skills, explore the company, network with experts and thought leaders, and receive training, professional development, and networking support.

Requirements

• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited college or university and remain enrolled full-time in Fall 2027.
• Major in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related degree.
• Be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance and Program Special Access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company; U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher.
• Be interested in hands-on material testing using techniques and equipment such as DSC, tensile, fatigue, FTIR, DMA, or other analytical thermal or mechanical testing methods.
• Be willing to work in a flexible environment with changing priorities and large task variability.
